Alamosa Mission Trip Kickoff Meeting
Come learn how you can serve the community of Alamosa, CO in one of the poorest areas of the USA by partnering with La Puente Home and San Luis Valley Habitat for Humanity from Sunday, July 24 – Friday, July 29. They really need volunteers and you can be the face of Jesus.
Time & Location
Feb 13, 2022, 10:45 AM – 11:45 AM
Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Churc, 11500 W 20th Ave, Lakewood, CO 80215, USA
About the event
We will have a guest speaker from La Puente and a video plus SLV Habitat volunteers share their experiences. It will be an opportunity to get your questions answered. All generations are invited on the trip and participants will have the choice of having registration, lodging and most food paid for or self-funding all or part of the trip.
Those who serve La Puente may be doing gardening, loading wood, working with kids, painting, food bank and other jobs as needed. The COVID #’s in the area will determine how much in-person interaction there is with those we serve. The SLV Habitat house will have outside walls up and windows will remain open for good airflow for those working inside. Potential work may be sanding and staining trim, stucco work and landscaping.
COVID Protocol: Trip participants must be vaccinated, currently wearing masks inside and social distancing is required at both the SLV Habitat job site and when serving with La Puente. Current groups are not interacting with people who live in La Puente’s shelter.
